Mama’s Kitchen delivers our 10 millionth meal!
On Wednesday, March 31, Mama’s Kitchen will be celebrating the delivery of the 10 millionth meal served from our kitchen since our founding in 1990.
The 10 millionth meal milestone has been reached sooner than expected due to the overall 50% increase in demand for our services as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis. Currently, approximately 11,000 medically tailored meals are delivered each week by volunteers to critically ill community members all across San Diego County. Mama’s Kitchen has delivered more than 695,360 meals to 2,000 critically ill San Diegans since the COVID-19 pandemic began. We are grateful to continue the work of bringing healing nutrition to people battling HIV, cancer, diabetes, congestive heart failure, and chronic kidney disease, through the consistent support of our volunteers, donors, community partners, and elected officials like you. It is through your support and advocacy that we have been able to serve thousands of San Diegans in need since 1990.
