Mama’s Kitchen continues to fill a need in our community by providing free hot, nutritious meals to men, women and children who are affected by AIDS or cancer. We offer 11 different meal plans to meet our clients’ nutritional requirements, and our meals are lovingly prepared and hand-delivered by hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Mama’s Pantry Service provides a once-a-month shopping opportunity to low-income HIV positive individuals, to help them add nutrition to their diet and stretch their budget. We also provide an Emergency Food Assistance service and Medical Nutrition Therapy to eligible HIV+ San Diego County residents.
During February 2017, Mama’s Kitchen prepared and delivered 28,650 meals to 348 people living with AIDS or cancer, including 4,242 meals for 58 minor children.
